My company, It is God's Idea (iiGi), was birthed in my office one day while I was contemplating retiring. I was concerned that my paycheck would be reduced considerably after I retired. God said to me, "Are you depending on your paycheck or me?" That was all the confirmation I needed; so I retired in 2004 after 38 years of Federal Government service, because God said it was time to go and to do more for Him.
Prior to retiring, God placed an idea in my spirit; as I began to think about forming a company; I knew I wanted God to get all the glory for what He was doing in my life. After analyzing different options , I chose "It Is God's Idea" as my logo.
In 2013, I published my first book, "Some Assembly Required". My passion for writing poetry developed early in life while I was in high school. This collection of poems contains poems from as early as 1999.
Since retiring, God has blessed me to go on several mission trips - Guatemala, Jamaica, and Kenya. During my first mission trip to Guatemala in 2010, God gave me an idea for a T-shirt. In 2014, the "Group Prayer" T-shirt was designed, printed, and became available for sale.
Additionally, I created an etiquette class for young girls between the ages of 10 - 15 on building self-esteem. Psalm 139:14 "[...] I am fearfully and wonderfully made [...] and I will not conform to what the world says I should look like. As an etiquette coach, I teach young ladies the art of "sitting, standing, stooping, and walking".
As an active member of my church, I am the director of the Benevolent Ministry, assist the Suffering Loss Ministry as well as the Hospitality Ministry. Moreover, I have spoken at several events and programs.
